Dental Implant Study

Status: Currently recruiting subjects.

Tooth Extraction Study
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate bone level changes in the upper jaw following alveolar ridge preservation compared to extraction alone. ARP is performed at the time the tooth is removed. The tooth socket is filled with bone graft material and is covered with a collagen membrane barrier.

Dental Implant Study

Status: Currently recruiting subjects.

Implant comparisons placed on 2nd pre-molar or 1st and 2nd molar in the upper jaw
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth. Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general and oral health who have lost a tooth.The study will have three stages: 1) a screening visit, 2) a visit where the dental implants are surgically placed, and 3) implant follow up visits.

Oral Health Complications in Head and Neck Radiation for Cancer

Status: Currently recruiting subjects.

The purpose of this research study is to learn about oral health problems that may happen after radiation for head and neck cancer.
Understanding what happens after radiation may help dentists provide better dental care before and after radiation. This research could help future patients who have radiation therapy (RT) for head and neck cancer. It is also possible that no benefit will come from this study.

Seeking volunteers to take part in a study exploring the causes of oral cancer and oral cancer painOral cancer presents a significant health problem. The 5-year survival rate for oral squamous cell carcinoma is 40% and is among the worst of all sites in the body. This survival rate has not improved over the past 40 years.
