Pharyngitis (Sore Throat) Study
Sore Throat Study
We are conducting a study in order to gather more information on the safety of flurbiprofen 8.75 mg lozenge and how well the lozenge works against sore throat pain.
The study consists of 3 visits over 7 to 10 days. The first visit will take approximately 3 hours and the two follow-up visits approximately 30 minutes.
If you at 18 years of age or older and have a painful sore throat you may be eligible to participate in this study.
The medication flurbiprofen contained in the lozenge is a non-steriodal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The flurbiprofen 8.75 mg lozenge is approved in Europe, Canada, and other parts of the world for the treatment of painful sore throats. It is not approved for sale in the United States to treat sore throat pain. In the United States, Flurbiprofen 50 mg and 100 mg are approved by prescription for the treatment of some types of pain, such as arthritis.
