Status: Completed.

PLEASE NOTE: We can no longer accept new participants for this study

The purpose of the study is to collect data to allow the development of a device that measures tooth color. The study will test three different methods of measuring tooth color.

If you are a healthy male or female who is 21-60 years of age, you may be eligible to participate in a tooth whitening research study at the NYU Bluestone Center for Clinical Research.

The study consists of 4 visits which will take place over approximately 4 weeks. The first study visit will last approximately 30 minutes, the second visit will last approximately 2 hours, and the remaining study visits will last approximately 30 minutes each.

During the study, you will be assigned by chance to receive one of two different tooth whitening products. The shade (color) of your teeth will be evaluated by three dental examiners, oral photographs, and a measurement device.

Study products will be provided at no cost to qualified individuals, and eligible subjects will be compensated for their time and travel expenses.
